MGI Zip X1, X3 and X5 explained
Mgi zip x5: How the MGI Zip X1, X3 and X5 differ, who each suits, and what the shared 24V lithium battery and charger mean for ownership.

Where the Zip X-series fits
MGI sells its walk-behind buggies in two families. The Zip series is the straightforward motorised range, and the Ai and Navigator models add GPS and remote control. If you want a buggy that carries the bag and sets the pace without a remote to manage, the Zip X1, X3 and X5 are the models to compare (the X1 and X3 are non-remote). All three are lithium powered and fold for the boot.
MGI Zip X1: the simple starting point
The Zip X1 is deliberately uncomplicated, with a single variable speed dial as its control interface. It suits golfers moving from a push buggy to a motorised one for the first time who would rather not learn menus. It is the lowest-priced Zip model in our range, and it takes the same 24V lithium battery as the X3 and X5.
MGI Zip X3: more features, still non-remote
The MGI Zip X3 adds a Controlled Distance Function, a swivelling and lockable front wheel and all-terrain treads. It also tracks stats such as distance walked and longest drive. It is a non-remote model, so it sits between the entry X1 and the remote-control Zip Navigator on price and capability.
MGI Zip X5: the longer-range option
The Zip X5 is the model for golfers who play 36 holes or want extended battery life. It carries a 36-hole extended lithium battery, downhill speed control and an electronic park brake. MGI notes that a 36-hole claim is based on normal playing conditions, and factors such as terrain, hills and golfer weight can affect how far one charge goes.
Batteries and chargers across the range
The X1, X3 and X5 are compatible with the MGI 24V 250Wh lithium battery. It can only be charged with the MGI Lithium 24V battery charger, which is sold separately, so a spare battery and a charger are worth planning for at the time you buy. The fireproof charging box is an optional safety accessory for charging at home.
